Film: Signs of Allegiance
Guest Post by Abeeha
As a low-budget short film, Signs of Allegiance is based on a genre of drama and action. With the portrayal of trust and loyalty between two partners Slick and Jay, the production has immensely built its narrative alongside the main plot. Usually, short movies deliver their message with the inclusion of minimum characters which contributes to entertaining the attention of the spectators. The action performed by the cast in the film is worth watching as everyone is involved in the character given to them. The most authentic feature to praise the plot is the use of colloquial language. The natural yet simple narration has been chosen to be part of storytelling. It seems that the direction has been conducted to capture the casual settings like bar, room and car scenes. No wonder how the suspense is created by Jay’s story in revealing the plans of Slick. Emotions are pushed by the simple dialogues, surely audience will have sympathy for Jay. Thrill and dramatic, the film reveals story complexities in a less traditional but simple way. A unique concept in manifesting crime along with emotional drama and the consequences of making some painful choices. Grab your popcorn to watch an exclusive piece of direction as I bet this time will be worth it.
