Prepare to be inspired by a filmmaker who blurs the lines between art and reality, inviting us to explore the darkness that resides within the human soul.

Can you talk about the inspiration behind "Erupt" and what motivated you to take on this project?
"Erupt" is in a lane of its own. We're not trying to compete with other filmmakers. This story was created by Pharoah and from a different perspective of a screenwriter. "Erupt" is a testament to the power of independent filmmaking driven by a unique vision and a commitment to authentic storytelling. The inspiration behind the project arose from a desire to break away from the conventional, to explore the uncharted territories of human experience.

Could you share some behind-the-scenes anecdotes or challenges you faced while filming "Erupt"? Any memorable moments during production?
There were a lot of struggles when it came to making ERUPT into a reality. Like many independent films, "Erupt" faced financial constraints. Securing funding for a film can be a daunting task, and we had to navigate the complexities of budgeting, fundraising, logistics, casting, and generally making sure that we had the resources and equipment needed to bring the story to the screen. I tell people filming is a job. It's not an easy task.

As a director, how do you approach character development, particularly in a film like "Erupt," where complex characters play a significant role?
As a director, I always believe in doing a one-on-one approach with actors for character development. It's important to explaining to them what their character is about. Acting is not just about them reading the script, it's about them feeling their characters both mentally and physically. Once they're locked in, it's not too difficult for them to portray that character on film.

Can you tell us about your collaboration with the screenwriter, Pharoah Dickens, and how you worked together to bring this story to life?
The collaboration between me and Pharoah Dickens works well because we have the same vision. I been knowing him for years. Our partnership is built on a shared passion for storytelling. We just have the same mindset. And that's to raise the bar for Luretta Films.

The soundtrack and score for "Erupt" were curated by Stonerpop. How did the music contribute to the film's atmosphere and emotional depth?
Stonerpop definitely played a major role for the soundtrack and the film. Everything was a perfect match; their selection of tracks and original compositions perfectly complemented the mood and tone of the film. Good collaboration.

What do you believe sets "Erupt" apart from other independent films, and why should audiences be excited to see it?
Erupt is not just a film, it offers a glimpse into the heart of darkness that resides within the human soul. Audiences will be spellbound by the intricate character development, the suspenseful storytelling, and the gripping tension that escalates with each passing moment. The film's setting in Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana, adds a unique and authentic backdrop to the narrative, enhancing the overall atmosphere.

The film premieres on October 7th, 2023. What are your expectations and hopes for the audience's reaction to the movie?
On October 7th, I expect my audience to pay close attention and feel "Erupt."  I look forward to seeing how viewers engage with the film's narrative and characters and my hopes are grounded in the desire to provide an emotionally charged cinematic journey.

It's fascinating to learn that you have a clothing line called Ruff Rule. Could you tell us more about the inspiration behind the brand and what it represents to you?
It means to have morals, integrity, and self-motivation. Is it you? Is it true? You are Ruff Rule.

How do you balance your roles as a filmmaker and a fashion designer? Do you find any creative intersections between the two?
It's not easy trying to be creative for Ruff Rule or Luretta Films. But I'm up for the challenge. While balancing both roles can be demanding, there are creative intersections between filmmaking and fashion design that I explore, allowing me to express my artistic vision in multiple forms.

Can you provide insights into any future projects or collaborations that you are currently working on or have in mind?
As for future projects, all I can say is keep watching Luretta Films. We're coming!!! While I can't reveal specific details at this moment, I can assure you that we have exciting plans in the pipeline to continue pushing boundaries in the world of independent cinema.
